Sarah Pehrson, Client Journey Specialist


Sarah received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Utah State University in 2012. She was an active member of the Marriage and Family Therapy Student Association (MFTSA) at Utah State University and served as President for two years. She was the co-founder of the MFT Student Outreach Program at Utah State University. Sarah worked on multiple research teams in the Psychology and the Family, Consumer, and Human Development (FCHD) departments. Her research has been published and presented at local, regional, and national meetings. Sarah worked as a Teaching Assistant and Undergraduate Teaching Fellow for eight upper-division courses. 

Sarah has been volunteering for the Utah Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (UAMFT), Utah Commission on Marriage, and the Governor’s Marriage Conferences since 2009. Additionally, she volunteered on the Mobile Crisis Team at the Community Abuse Prevention Services Agency (CAPSA). Additionally, she was involved in the creation of the Stronger Marriage website for the State of Utah. 

Prior to working at Cache Valley Counseling, she worked as a manager at Uinta Academy, a premier residential treatment program. Sarah was a member of the Uinta Academy Treatment Team. She received extensive training in the Teaching-Family Model. Sarah loved working with the girls and young adult women and their horses. Sarah also worked as the Assistant Behavior Services Program Coordinator at a local school district. She worked with 26 schools in the district. She assisted in data analysis, the creation of individualized student behavior plans, and ensured that plans were being followed with fidelity.

Sarah enjoys learning about different cultures and religions. She lived in Moscow, Russia and will always treasure her memories and friendships there. Sarah believes everyone has a right to be treated with kindness. She loves horseback riding, running, hiking, road biking, kayaking, and spending time with her family.
